December 2019 || REGAN O'FALLON

Foundation Leadership Award December Student of the Month

Social Science Department

Regan O'Fallon is an academically strong and confident student with a strong gift of leadership. She is the daughter of Tracey and Patrick O'Fallon. Regan is the kind of student teachers love to have in class. She is curious, diligent, and seeks understanding. She is respected among her peers and by her teachers. She was chosen to attend a Student Leadership Day at the Illinois State Capitol hosted by our state senator and a Youth Leadership Summit hosted by our US Congressman, Adam Kinzinger. Regan was chosen because of her interest in government and politics, her leadership, and strong skill set. As a sophomore, Regan scored a 5 on her AP US Government and Politics exam, which only 13% of all the students globally accomplish.

Regan is also actively involved in school extra-curricular activities. She has been part of the tennis team all four years and has been the captain of the varsity team. She and her tennis partner placed 4th and 5th at state respectively for the past two years. Regan is also the captain of the girls' basketball team which she

been part of all four years. She is on the yearbook staff for the high school and is currently editor-in-chief. Regan is a member of our student council (all four years), and the Honor Society (currently president). She has been a freshmen mentor for three years; is part of our Fine Arts Club; and is editor-in-chief of our school newspaper. Regan is the president of our award-winning Superfans Club and is a member of two service clubs — Rotary and Key Club.

This past year, Regan was hired as a barista at Jeremiah Joe Coffee. She works 8-10 per week. She is a fast learner, a responsible employee, and her co workers enjoy working with her.

Obviously, Regan is an aggressive and dedicated student. She has set high goals for herself taking honors and AP classes and is at the top of her graduating class. She does all of this while holding a job and assuming multiple leadership positions. Regan is interested in studying political science and law. We wish her much continued success!
