Ina Raub

From the Hall of Fame plaque

OTHS Booster Club Member 20+ Years Ina joined the Ottawa High School Booster Club in 1971 when her son entered Ottawa High and competed as a wrestler. She quickly became President of the Booster Club, its first woman president, and expanded the scope of students to benefit from the club’s efforts, newly including among others, the Pomerettes, Band and Choir, and the ROTC. She spearheaded a drive to increase participation in the club, expanding its membership from less than 100 to more than 500 in a few years. The Booster Club provides important financial support for extracurricular activities that is beyond the limit of the various programs’ normal budgets. Mrs. Raub implemented two $500 scholarships to benefit a senior girl and senior boy that demonstrate excellence in attitude and competitive spirit, open to students throughout the extracurricular spectrum. She was active in the Booster Club for more that 20 years. She was recognized for her efforts by being selected as an outstanding community leader by the Those Who Excel program, sponsored by the Illinois State Board of Education. At the time of her induction, she is the only inductee to never have attended, taught, or coached at the school, but made enormous contributions as a community member and volunteer.
