Dorothy Love

From the Hall of Fame plaque

Long-time OTHS Supporter Dorothy Love first came to Ottawa with her husband Gil Love in 1944. Since that time she has been a consistent presence at Ottawa Township High sporting events, concerts, and other extra-curricular activities. She has missed very few home basketball games in what has now become in excess of a 65 year span. Dorothy Love established the Gil Love Memorial Scholarship, awarded each year in memory of her husband Gil to a worthy senior at Ottawa Township High School. She was also instrumental in the fundraising efforts to honor her husband as now evidenced by the Gil Love Memorial Scoreboard in Kingman Gym, as well as the adjacent gymnasium now named in Gil Love’s honor. Dorothy is the third member of her family to be inducted into the Ottawa Township High School Hall of Fame, being preceded as an individual inductee by her husband Gil, and both her son John and husband Gil, inducted as members of the 1959-60 Ottawa High basketball team.
